Claimed to have computer-generated my mobile number? I stated I wasn't interested and refused to give personal details. Fearful of place being staked out...

Slightly outside the normal practice of business in NSW. I added their number then blocked it. I went so far as to notifying police who took the number down.
When I initially called right back (to check the number) there was an instant voice mail.

Caller: Neilson TV survey? Really? 8:30 pm at night?

Called at 20:30 pm asking whether I had 5 mins to complete a survey?
"OK, well this is a private mobile number so how did you get it?"
"Oh, it was computer-generated".
"Well sorry, I'm in the middle of a TAFE assignment and wish I could help."
"OK, no problem some other time then?"
"Thanks no, I'm simply not interested".

In summary, the guy was pleasant enough but it went straight to an official-sounding message bank when I curiously called back. Seemed legit enough, but you never know - it raised real concerns since it was after business hours? I made note of the number and blocked it. Like wow...

These guys are nice people just trying to get info in order to help decide who goes on the panel so we can get rid of all the sh*t programmes that are on at the moment. I spoke to a really nice Irish girl. She explained the reason for the call and its all legit. It only took a few mins, no big deal people jeeezz

I do not answer if I do not recognise number and they have never left a message. Started calling me in mid July so I blocked number but have rung me 8 times since!!!

Phoned about tv and plug in information eg how many TVs, video? Subscription tv and any plug ins with yes or no answers.Then asked demographic information ie postcode, gender, age, how many people in house. I said I was now feeling uncomfortable and wished to halt survey. Said he couldn’t understand what had gone wrong and was nearly finished. I did not proceed further. I called the number back and vm was same voice. Within 20 mins received another survey call from (03) 9605 4974 called me by name and wanted to survey about superannuation. Politely declined.
