These people are scammers - do not answer their calls. They convince you that they are from Trend Micro and if you’re stupid like me get you to give them access to your PC - hopefully I shut it down in time and got Trend Micro on the phone to repair the damage they caused. Furious at myself, I know better and was still caught off guard.

Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: Alexander posing as a tech from trend micro

I'm pretty sure I called trend Micro Support in Sydney. The call was answered by Alexander who directed me to allow him control of my computers by directing me to go to a website www.support.me (which sounds ridiculous now but I was desperate because I thought my computer had been interfered with remotely)
THAT website ensured it WAS interfered with. It was only when he presented me with an online bill for $399.99 which he said must be paid immediately that I told him it sounded like a scam. He got angry and said I was the one that called Trend Micro Support so I must pay. It was starting to sound less and less like the real thing and I told him I did not have that sort of money at short notice. Who knows how much he would have been able to get out of my credit card if I had gone along with him.
I'm reporting this to TM and Scamwatch and the Police You should too.

Caller type: Company
Location: Australia
Caller: Technician Jack & previously Ricky Behl

The company is TECHNET https://www.technetonlines.com.au/contact.html
other contacts 1800 985 148 & 1800 244 918. I contacted TECHNET asked for the manager who verified they have the technicians as listed above.
On the initial contact I believed I was contacting Norton with difficulties in setting up protection on my mobile phone.
TechNet (Ricky Behl) scanned my computer set up Norton on the mobile phone as requested and I accepted 'one year unlimited tech support' for one year for $400 in March 2019.
I was contacted by TECHNET on 6/12/2019 to advise that Norton automatic updates were not working. I returned the call on 9/12/2019 to check what problem.
A technician (Jack) remotely scanned my computer remotely and found updates (Norton & Windows) were not downloading automatically and drivers were not up to date.
I checked this, updated Norton & and found windows already had current updates.
Jack offered further service for ~$250 or $300 depending on what I chose.
The approach was aggressive and appeared to be a scam as all was up to date except some current drivers which I think I do not need.
On checking, TECHNET appears genuine, but the aggressive handling and pushy selling services totalling $700 sounds excessive.
Talk to the manager and check it out for yourself.

Called me on my mobile and was trying to convince me that they where from AVG. Knew a lot of personal information. Had contacted AVG a week earlier and the technician warned me not to let anyone have access to computer if anyone calls and says that they where from AVG. So I was very cautious and told them to #$%@. Glad I did.

I got a call from this number this evening, when I answered they said “I got a missed call from this number saying you needed help with your server”.
My response “No”, he then forcibly said “yes you do, your server isn’t working”.
I hung up knowing that my laptop is in being fixed and use my mobile as a router 😂

I missed two calls from this number today. I do not know whose number it is, so I will not call back. If they want to speak to me they will ring again.
