Caller claimed to be from one of Australia's largest travel agents (could not understand the name due to the caller's accent, Indian or Pakistani or similar) and that, in the last year, I had filled out a form for discounted travel. The last time I saw this sort of thing was before COVID. I expect they say this to get around the Do Not Call register on which I have registered. If challenged I would expect they would say that, by filling out the form, I wanted to be called so they are not cold calling me, assuming that they are not scammers. When I said that I did not fill out a form they claimed a relative or friend must have. I know that my relatives and friends would NOT do that. They only knew basic information about me, surname, address, & landline number on which they phoned. When I asked for the Christian name that was filled out on the form the person said that he did not have the form so did not know. The caller was trying to sell prepaid accommodation packages (a certain number of nights for 2 adults & 2 children valid for a certain period of time). I let him go through the whole process & then when he got the conditions he said that the packages could be used throughout the year except for 15 December to 15 January. I said that was a shame as that would be during the period I would want to travel so the packages were no good to me. I said goodbye & ended the call.
