Claiming to be ATO, just a scam. Don't answer and block the number.

Someone called me and I didn't answer and they left voice message. Not sure how did they find my number. SCAM

I received the call too but easy to get them... I advised ATO, Australian federal police, local police...

the number seems to be down atm.

Received phone call today 24 Aug 2017) at 8.45am. It was a recorded message from the Tax Office to say that a that a law suit has been filed against me for unpaid tax. Checked the phone number on Google and it came up with this website - which confirms my suspicions that it is a scam. My thanks to people for writing in and helping ensure other people are aware/confirming their suspicions.

Yes, I received the same call but couldn't understand what the first part of message was, yes I listened again now, something about law and tax!
I will delete it now.

Just had a scam tax office call from this number

Same - an indian guy left a message about a law suit or some bollocks. SCAM.

calling about a Law suit for tax evasion and tax fraud.

This is 100% SCAM. Don't bother calling back. When asked where in Sydney NSW their office is, the gentleman with the thick Indian Accent hung up. LOL.

100% SCAMMERS.

Had a message from the 'ATO', called back and was an Indian person telling me I had outstanding money – I asked for his name and details and before hanging up on me he said "I love you honey I want to f**k you so hard". DO NOT CALL BACK!

Got call by an automated message of a Punjabi man talking about tax fraud. Called back several times and a guy answers with 'hello taxation office' and then hangs up. I'm not sure what the call was for but had a guy whose a veteran from the auditor generals office ready to talk to them.

Do not return the phone call to this number as it is a fraud caller and do not get back to him.

ATO scam. I've received exactly the same call several times before and confirmed it was a scam.

Total scam for sure - the ATO does not deal with anyone in this way. Don't call back. Same Indian sounding man and the same bogus threatening message that everyone else has reported.

A guy with an Indian sounding accent left a message on my home number asking to call back and not to disregard his message. When I called back he answered as Australian Taxation Office and introduced himself as a Senior Investigating Officer. He told me that he called to inform me that a law suit has been filed against me for unpaid tax. When I said that I did not have any outstanding payments he insisted that a case has been filed. After I insisted he give me details of the amount and tax period he hung up. I dialled back to say I inform the police of his scam but no one picked up. I called from a different number , this time he did answer and I told him that would pass his number to the police. I heard some chatter to someone else about what I said and then he hung up.

Ignored phone call. Couldn't understand caller due to Indian accent. Didn't identify himself/company.
