This number called me and looked suspicious, so at first I wasn't going to answer it.
But when I did answer the call, I didn't say anything and just waited to hear some background noise or for them say something first.
After a couple of seconds, they hung up.
It's probably their computers calling and waiting for someone to say Hello, then their scamming message would start playing.

Caller: (02) 9071 2899 NBN scam

People, please ignore this number!
I was called from this number numerous times, telling me they are Telstra and they were offering a free upgrade to a faster nbn.
First call I missed, second was a male Indian asking me about my nbn free upgrade, stupid me said I haven’t got time to speak now, on my way out, call me back this afternoon.
Third attempt was a female Indian once again I didn’t have time to speak, told her to ring later, so the same lady called me 3 days later with a few missed calls in between and said I can update your nbn now for free.
I didn’t think anything of it as my internet is slow, so I thought ok she was here to help me from Telstra?
I was busy trying to feed my son and in the middle of all the chaos happening at home.
I started proceeding with her call (I know stupid me) she asked me how many devices do we use in the home and then asked me have you done a speed test, which I do have down loaded on my phone, she made me recheck it while she was on the phone.
my speed was lower than what she told me it had to be between 50-60m but mine was much slower than this.
Then she told me to go to my App Store on my mobile, click the search bar then she spelt out the name anydesk, you have to download this for me to proceed, so yes I proceeded with this and then she asked me to click on something which I did then a code came up, she asked me what the code was, so yes I told her the number code, then she did something on her side then she said to me you have to accept?
Now this is where I started realising this isn’t right?
I told her NO I am not accepting anything several times but she kept on saying, but remember this is getting you a faster NBN?
Then I started asking her a few questions about my Telstra account, what are my account details and email address, she couldn’t answer these questions.
I asked her how do I know that you are from Telstra?
I’ll give you my name and you can google it and it will say I do work for Telstra!
I said WHAT THE?
I didn’t continue with anything else, THANK GOD!
Then I said to her this is a scam and I am having this number reported and she starting getting stroppy with me, then she hung up.
I was so lucky that I had seen something very similar on Chanel 7 the previous night regarding these sorts of scams, and as I was going through this procedure, I was thinking of what I’d seen on tv in the back of my mind but because you’re in that moment, you just proceed with it not thinking straight, it’s like they have you in a spell?

So please be WARNED!
They nearly had me.

If you say nothing at pick up,(Iike I do)then hangs up,means it’s a robocall voice activated.
Also more sophisticated scammers want your voice print.
In my case the number looked official due to circumstance
