Said they were from Telstra and someone is using my internet line overseas for illegal activity. Asked me to check my router. I just said I’m not with Telstra and they hung up

Tried to tell me they were going to debit over $1000 from my visa debit. I hung up and blocked.

Said they were calling from the NBN and it seems that our internet service has been hacked by another user. I asked if they could tell me who my internet provider was and he said 'yes we know that maam' then he hung up.

They didn't leave a message. I called back and got a message saying the number wasn't available from my service. It's a f*ck'n landline number, and my service has unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in Australia. Dodgy-a-mundo. Block them. I did.

Said they were from Microsoft and wanted to speak with the owner of the computer as there was a problem. Nothing but a SCAM so hung up and blocked their number.

Caller: They claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank

There was a delay in responding when I answered the call, the background was noisy and sounded like a call centre so I almost hung up immediately but I'm currently dealing with a lot of business and decided to hang on in case the call was to do with that. A guy told me he was calling from the Commonwealth Bank where they had intercepted and blocked a sum of $400+ from being taken from my account from an overseas account.... I don't bank with them.
Right from the beginning I felt he was asking me carefully worded questions to try and get me to answer yes or no which I avoided. I could sense the guys frustration as he kept trying with different questions. When I asked him why the CBA were calling me instead of my own bank he said they were protecting me from having my account closed which would be the immediate reaction from my own bank. When I persisted and said I thought that would be a good thing to close my account if hackers had got into it and that I would check with my own bank he became annoyed and I hung up.

Scam call. Ignored the call. Voicemail said something about the embassy or something. Then an automated voice spoke in Chinese.

Caller: Amazon apparently

Automated message telling us that money will be debited from our Amazon account. Husband got the call and he does not even have an Amazon account.

Tried to call, out of area numbers are blocked automatically. When rung back, didn't ring/answer.
Mobile phone lists as potential fraud.

This time around its the amazon scam.

Claimed to be from NBN Technical Department - hung up once I started questionning

answered but they hung up straight away. Will block no. When you call the number if comes up with "call failed" response.

Scam call pretending to be from Telstra (not my internet provider).
