Caller: Scammer

They make it appear as though these calls are coming from legitimate phone number in Australia but they are actually coming from scammers overseas who utilise the technology that enables them to spoof numbers in this way. Each scam is a different but similar version of the same thing. Auto-diallers will call thousands of numbers and as soon as the 1 in 1000 answers and "waits to be connected" the scammers know they have a small window of opportunity to con that person into sending them money or handing over enough detail to them that they can remote access their bank account/credit card/create fake drivers license in order to procure loans. You name it, they've successfully done it. It's why they keep doing it!
Simple solution is: let call go to voicemail. If its legitimately important they'll leave a message. If they don't, don't ever call back. And if something feels like it *might* be suspicious in the slightest? Trust your gut! Better to be wrong about that and a little bit embarrassed rather than wrong about trusting something or someone who ends up taking advantage of you and ripping you off, resulting in financial harm and the accompanying shame that follows.

Leaves no message. Total scam also from similar numbers starting with 02 then 90.

Received call to my private mobile, they hung up as soon as I answered. Called number back and spoke to a gent called "Aaron", no company name announced. Calling about the Australian Government Solar Offer. Advised the number he called me on was a business mobile and we weren't interested. Stated "We're calling to discuss ideas, we're not selling you anything". SCAM. (I'm on the Do Not Call register, so not sure why I'm getting telemarketing calls).

missed a call from this number yesterday around 1pm, called them back today and before it could play the dial tone for me a robot says "your call is important, please hold while I connect you to an agent"

didn't answer. .. not sure who they are
