Caller: Social Research Centre

Social Research Centre calling me after 8pm at night for a research survey. They don't adhere to the do not call register because they are a 'not for profit' organisation; they do however use the do not call register to obtain numbers to call. I have never ever given my number to this organisation, nor given permission for them to use, or call my number.

The message began with the sound of someone trying to press a button to play the recorded computerised (not a person) voice message saying: "Hello my name is Trevor, calling from the social research centre. I was calling to invite you to take part in an important study we are conducting. We'll call back in a couple of days to see if you'd like to take part. Look Forward to speaking to you then". No conclusive information (exactly who or what etc) so I blocked the number.

Call blocked so did not answer. Social Research Centre has been active this last couple of days on our other phones so I guess it's them when i read what other people are saying.

This is a new one... they left a voice message with someone saying 'I need help!'. I assume this is a scam (but given the nature of the voice message, I keep second guessing myself). Given there have already been various complaints about this number, I'm going with scam.

Two calls from this number in quick succession and one silent voice mail. No idea who it was.
