Ha, I work for Suncorp (for real!) and they just called me! I missed their call (no message left) but have blacklisted them on my phone now...such time-wasters!

Got a call offering me a great deal on extended credit terms and low interest rate - then asked me to confirm my details - I said "no this sounds dodgy" and they hung up - BLOCK THEIR CALLS

They called regarding from Suncorp and had a recent debit transaction that they needed to be refunded to me, when i ask if they could provide their number so i can call them back, they told me they understand if I'm not comfortable with this and if I needed I could call the bank, which incidentally they got right, obviously its a cheat sheet with all the details on them. If a banking institution ever calls you can ask for there number so you can call them directly, this is a quick trick to seeing if they're legit.

Citibank Income Protection. I picked up the phone when it rang and spoke to a live person (as opposed to a recording.... or dead person :p)
They knew my name (but that doesn't mean they are who they say they are). I do bank with Citibank and said they were following up on an email sent to me discussing income protection. I have never engaged in discussions regarding income protection with them however they may have put me onto a generic mailing list and I have just ignored the emails.
They were keen to get through to me, they have called weekly and I haven't picked up until today. Hopefully declining the offer is enough to have them cease.
