I had a number of these calls from different numbers which can be traced back to the same company Diego mentioned. On the advice above I rang and asked for my number to be removed from their system. They seemed pleasant enough and assured me I would not be called again. Its annoying that they seemed to be able to pick your mumber out of no where and that you have to ring them to go away but it hopefully it works.

Same here, sydney number, every day at least 4 times starting around 10am. I called it back but got an answering service. Still cannot work out who it is.

they say to call (02) 8023 0725, but that was another answering service.

Its a marketing company called 'financial advice centre'. They do marketing for comm bank, hsbc and other places.

Is it? I received a call today, and when I answered it, they keep silent for a while then called me by my family name and said they are westpack bank managers. Moreover, they told me they got a message to me.  How strange, I don't have a vaild account there.

I've been tracking to see if anyone else has registered one of the variations of this number, folks have posted for (02) 8988 7360 saying it's IMB, namely after-hours printing division. One wonders how a computer company I've never had anything to do with has accessed a 10yr old pre-paid number!

I have been receiving a call a day around 2 oclock every day but the last 4 digits are different every day but the first 4 are always 02 8988.
