I have been getting several phone calls a day from this number over the last 5 days. I have answered twice with no response. This morning, I received another call and answered. This time someone a man responded attempted to run through the benefits of a Life Insurance policy I should have recently received in the mail from St George Bank (who I bank with). I asked him who he worked for and he was very coy but when I pressed him, he said he worked for St George. I told him not to call back... Given all everyone else's comments above, I think it is clearly a marketing company calling on behalf of clients

Thank you!This number has been calling me every few days, I thoguht it was Optus as my contract is up.I've jsut called & asked to be removed, the person I spoke with said they've been getting alot of complaint calls, about both being called constantly & the phone only ringing once.

Got a call from this number today trying to sell me Commonwealth Bank life insurance. I'm already a CBA Life Insurnace customer which doesn't make sense either. They seemed to have all my details in front of them (because I wouldn't confirm any like DoB etc but she then read it out to me anyway).
When I asked for a number to call them back on she gave me the Commonwealth Bank Customer Services number but only after pushing me a few more times to sign up for something that I already pay for - haha. I guess she really wanted the sale without me calling the bank back directly and her losing the lead.
Poor form if the banks are outsourcing this type of sales especially given that they are also passing on personal details (name, address, homeloan info, dob, spouse etc).
Added this number to my address list so I will remember to ignore in future but since I was lucky enough to actually get a real person on the other end of the phone the first time I doubt I'll be in the queue for any more calls at the moment.
