This is one of the phone numbers used by Colmar Brunton Research, based in North Ryde (Sydney), NSW. They are genuine. If they are calling you, chances are you've registered with them (quite possibly years ago).

From my experience, all their research is paid, like online discussion groups, in-person interviews or group interviews etc.

They will probably keep calling until they reach you. Most people don't mind being offered $70.00 to go in a chatroom for an hour.

To clarify, the Do Not Call register excludes marketing/social researchers unless they are commercial in nature, and also if you have registered with Colmar Brunton in the past they are permitted to call.

Will not leave me alone! Despite telling them in not interested, they keep ringing me. I don't sign up for any market research, so how they got my number I don't know.

Its a market research agency in North Ryde. They told me who they were when I answered once. They are using the contact list of another research agency which I was with. constantly calls week days and weekends. If you don't answer, don't you think they would get the hint you are not interested!!

I had 3 missed calls from them today. I called back 1 min after the last call. They said they can't search my number. They will call back when my number comes up again. How annoying!

I received a call from the above number, they told me they were doing market research and I would be paid for my participation. Gave them all my personal details, including age, address birthdate etc etc, was told I qualify for a group the next night and that the details for the research group would be emailed to me. I never received any email and when I called back this morning (as the research thing is tonight) it went to voicemail and no one called me back. personally I think this is a scam and would be very surprised if this was legit. Am reporting this to the authorities as for all I know, I have now un-knowingly handed over my personal details to a complete stranger!

This number has called me over 10 times in the last week always asking for a different person.I have explained several times they have the wrong number but they are still calling at least once a day.Have stopped answering phone.When does this border on harassment? ?

Yes this is marke research but you get a $40 or $50 voucher for an hour. They use to pay more

This company has been calling my mobile phone and hanging up on me, even if I answer after just ONE ring, for years now. I hate them!

Colmar Brunton is Your Source now although they sometimes use the names interchangably. I used to work there in the call centre and they DO in fact cold call randoms in addition to people who signed up for market research.. They offer paid market research to members but also call the general public for surveys etc.. They have call centres in Sydney and Melbourne and it is a pain in the butt to try to get them to stop calling as the numbers are generated at random.

The Do Not Call register does not apply to them as they are not selling anything or advertising anything. Charities and research companies are apparently exempt from this law (at least that's what they told us to say when people complained).

Just received a missed call from this number today, and googled to find out. Curious to know what a NSW company is doing calling me in Victoria.O_o

It's not that people are not aware of who they are it's that they call over and over again but when you pick up they instantly hang up which is plain annoying.

Just organise yourself better and only contact those that have actually opted into your infos, with easy opt-out options, according to international SPAM Act provisions.
Anything else is...SPAM.

I also received four attempted calls this afternoon from that number on my mobile. I have nothing to do with that Co. On each occasion I was unable to answer my phone, yet no messages were left. Because I wanted to know who it was, I rang back twice and on both occasions there was just a voice recording requesting me to leave my details.
DUH! How stupid can they be???
They can offer me $1,000 and I will reject if they do this cold calling BS. When I am on their list, they should send an email.
