Just received a note from my neighbour with the above number on it.
Irene said that she was a cousin and would like to catch up with Ron.
She also quizzed my neighbour on when I will be home and what I do now.

I am easy to contact as I have both a landline & a mobile number.
Neither number has changed in 17 years.
But yet never received a call from the above number!

I am going to list this as a scam, as I don't have any loans or debts...

I think his is a debt collector

Stated they were from Sydney and kept talking about my ex workplace , connecting me to the person they were asking about. Also stated we were Facebook friends when I said I don’t know them. Facebook on private. Creepy and inappropriate to be using false information to gain trust

this lovely man called wanting to pass a message onto my niece, he reassured me that is isn't anything criminal related. I was hesitated to help at first but my niece was very pleased he called. I think they may be a debt collection agency.

Same thing today asking my daughter to ring him total scam

Ali called looking for someone and asked him how did he get my number and he said he found it in the list of people where we used to live and he said that he's been trying to call all the people to find out the person he was looking for he spoke to my husband initially then i took over and aske him not to call the number coz it belongs to my 10 years old son and stressing him if there's a number that he does not know and he told me off that "if you are not willing to help i will just say to the person name of the person he was looking for" and he hang up the phone.
Mr Ali was too rude considering he has calling for another person. Mr Ali should be reassess on how to deal with customer service. We are with the vodafone for years and no problem until today. Ali refused to give what company he was calling from and refused to give his last name

same as everyone else, was called and the person i spoke with was Ali. He asked where my house was in relation to the one he was looking for and i told him i didn't know (i knew but that was none of his business). I was driving at the time so asked him to text me the info in which he did. I too googled the number and found this thread. I also called him back today and asked where he got my mobile number from and he said when you rent or buy a property your numbers are listed on certain databases and that is where he got it. He actually sounded legitimate & i think its a debt collecting place. However they can do their own research and find the person, I'm not passing anything on, they have the persons address, they could post it to them but i guess they are trying to find out if the person still actually lives there.

I returned a call and asked what business I was calling and there policy is not to tell.
In Australia if you are a business you need to identify yourself and your ABN.
They refused. I hung up.

No idea who it is or even exactly what they are after!!

Just received a call asking me to pass a msg on to someone i know as they've "tried calling them but no answer". Also quizzed our relationship a little, not sure how they got my number in the first place, refuses to give any details as to where they're calling from. Sent me a msg afterwards with a number for the other person to call with the their name Irene at the end. I dont know of the others credit situation but from what ive looked up the number of 'complete credit control' does not end in 4320 but is 4300.

I think Ron is right, Scam Alert!
