Same deal rang me Friday 13/06/14 I answer call and they hang up, total morons why ring if you going to hand up. I list them in my mobile contacts as pest 1,2 & 3 etc so you know not to answer them

Calls at lesst twice a day most days, hangs up if the phone is answered or when it goes through to the answering machine.
Re: the don't call register - it doesn't apply to charities. They are still legally allowed to call and ask for donations.

and calling a 13 number in Australia costs most of us $ from either a mobile or landline so Telstra is making $ if you make this type of call. Utility companies have these numbers for customer service too. Why aren't they free 1800 numbers???

They ring and hang up immediately, hoping that you will call them back. Then the Do Not Call Register law does not apply to them because you called them!
