This call didn’t seem right after I thought about it! The transcript from voicemail said - exactly - “This is an automated call from the Australian federal police a detective Sergeant is trying to reach you regarding an active investigation. Please press one to be connected to the relevant department.” With ai voices so easily made, it sounds like it is authentic, but on thinking about it, why would the AFP leave an automated message asking to be directed to the ‘relevant department’ and not the actual ‘detective sergeant’ who wants to speak with me? It doesn’t feel right. I’ll see if I get another call, but I doubt it. I hope this helps someone. Don’t press anything!
