Caller: Claim to come from Commonwealth Bank

This aggressive and rude Indian Man claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank called me today, and he demanded that I release my name, address and date of birth to verify my identity because the bank needed to speak to me urgently. I told him I won't release my details because I could not verify who he was. I called the CBA and they confirmed that the bank had never attempted to call me today. This number was used to call me twice today, and again last night at 8pm. When he called last night, he hung up when I answered the call. This number is definitely a scam per CBA.

This is actually the Commonwealth Bank's number, they always call from 02 numbers. Before confirming any details I always tell them i'll call them back on their 1300 number to be safe.

Caller: CBA Debt collection pretending to be financial hardship support

This number called me and when I called back it was the CBA, the menu options after dialing the number do not mention the name of the company but the language on the recording was aggressive, when a person answered they said they were from the CBA. It seems that this line is about financial hardship and they are trying to lure you in to a contract to become a debtor.

I called this number back and they attempted to use other ways to verify myself instead of the commbank app. Has been calling consistently during the cyclone with no respect to their customers if that’s the case.

No message left. CBA call from a private/blocked number and send a text prior to calling their customers. Have blocked this number based on other comments. Please be careful as this sounds like a scam.

Returned phone call they asked for personal information without disclosing where they were from.

Sounds like a return call from CBA financial hardship but wary as there was not mention of company.

I answered the call from this number, said "hello" twice since it's dead air and, still, no one is talking from the other line so I hang up.

They didn't say anything when I answered, wouldn't reply to "hello" or comments, they just sat there not saying anything and not hanging up. So I did. Weird dodgey network skank with a fool personality disorder from within business.

Probably was CBA considering they are about due to call me about something, but screw them for calling at 7:30 PM from some number I've never seen before. I'm not picking that up.

First you need to say no consent to be recorded and ask for a full legal name, they are trying to lure you in to a contract to become a debtor when you are the Creditor all the way!
