Received 3 automated calls supposedly from the tax office. Rang this number back and a man answered saying Australian Taxation Office. It is my mother's phone and I explained she was a pensioner and didn't pay tax. He asked how long she had been a pensioner and I said over 20 years. He then told us to ignore the messages. Can anyone tell me what is going on here?

Repeated Robocall threatening police warrants for tax fraud unless the number is called back. Clearly nonsense and a SCAM.

Rings with automated message purportedly from ATO about tax evasion; requests call back. Able to get through #/message block to leave 'messages' with no words, costing money to retrieve.
