They first called via a Private number, then emailed me with this phone number in their email signature.

The email:

We are unable to reach you over the phone.

Kindly do not ignore and give this matter your immediate attention.

Please contact our office urgently on (02) 8599 7920 or reply via e-mail regarding an important matter of yours that has reached our office for immediate resolution or chat with our staff on live chat collexa.com.au.

Please quote the reference number <xxxxx>.

Ask for full DOB verification to disclose the "matter".

Received 3 text messages over the last 2 months asking me to contact my friends husband and get them to call back the number (02) 8599 7920 and quote a reference number in the message for further information. No idea how they got my number, or my connection with my friends husband as we aren't even friends on FB/Insta anything. I only have his number in my contacts for emergencies.
Definitely must be a scam

"Please ask Tobi to contact Lina" with a hyperlink reference number. I had a dog called Toby, sadly he came to the end a couple of years ago. These calls grrrrrr

They emailed me asking me to forward their number to lady called Montana Ryvers I don't know anyone by this name and its not my name but they did call me by my 1st name whe nn they emailed me how the hell do these people get our private information I've had enough of scammers they're getting worse I get calls every single day grrrrr

They called my neighbour looking for me then when I called back, they asked for my husband by name. Said it was "urgent personal business"

I have had 2 phone calls asking for contact details of a friend and a family member. They want to contact them for an 'Urgent personal business matter'. They apparently got my number from public record.

I have received 2 phone calls today asking after contact details for a family member and a friend. They say they need to contact the person on a 'Urgent private business matter', and the number they have either isn't connected or the person is not answering. They're trying to sound like debt collectors, but if they got my number from public record, it's easy enough to get the accrual person's number.

They called my wife and her sister, looking for me. they told me abount hte "private business call" and i laughed and told them to block the number, this is scam of the lowest variety. Iinterestingly I had someone look at my "linked in" account moments before.... not to be trusted Block and ignore

There have been NO texts or emails prior. Looks like a similar scam attempt as stories above

Text message from 0423 607 336 asking to call back (02) 8599 7920 re. a family members "personal business matter". Scammers!!!!!!!!!

Keeps call or texting me, asking if I know XYZ, that they need the contact number of XYZ. When asked who is looking for XYZ and what is the reason, then the person will say they can not expose the reason due to privacy reasons. I later ask XYZ about this and he said he receive scam calls from the same party, asking him to pay some kind of debt! He already asked his solicitor to take the matter legally. It has been calling and texting both of us once in a little while, sometimes using a different number.

Stupid scam calls, so they think we are dumb enough to expose our personal details? Get real and f*ck off!!!!

Do not call this number, i.e. (02) 8599 7920. Best to report it to ACCC "report a scam".

Claims 2 unpaid bills from 2012 both with Origin. Kept insisting I live in a different location 4hrs away before finally getting it right. Tried to ring me once, and then started harassing my previous next door neighbour. No idea how they got her phone number. Creepy, immoral, scammers. Threatened to continue to harass people I know until I pay this "debt" saying they had a long list of people who know me. Ridiculous!

Called twice but i don't answer numbers i dont know. Then i got a txt with urgent message to call before 5pm. I did (stupid I know but I wanted to tell where to go) the number showed up on my scam watch as "nintendo" and a scam so I hung up and blocked them all.

Scam, even sent me a txt too. Didn't answer the call, they left a message addressed to a name I don't know saying to call back urgently.

I am reporting with a screen dump of sms - to scamwatch.
