I have had 2 phone calls asking for contact details of a friend and a family member. They want to contact them for an 'Urgent personal business matter'. They apparently got my number from public record.

I have received 2 phone calls today asking after contact details for a family member and a friend. They say they need to contact the person on a 'Urgent private business matter', and the number they have either isn't connected or the person is not answering. They're trying to sound like debt collectors, but if they got my number from public record, it's easy enough to get the accrual person's number.

They called my wife and her sister, looking for me. they told me abount hte "private business call" and i laughed and told them to block the number, this is scam of the lowest variety. Iinterestingly I had someone look at my "linked in" account moments before.... not to be trusted Block and ignore

Received text message "Attention: (name) We have made numerous attempts to contact you through texts & emails.....to resolve a personal matter.......request I contact them urgently to avoid escalation...."

There have been NO texts or emails prior. Looks like a similar scam attempt as stories above

Had received landline msg from "Shelley" NBN style earlier. May be unrelated

Text message from 0423 607 336 asking to call back (02) 8599 7920 re. a family members "personal business matter". Scammers!!!!!!!!!

Keeps call or texting me, asking if I know XYZ, that they need the contact number of XYZ. When asked who is looking for XYZ and what is the reason, then the person will say they can not expose the reason due to privacy reasons. I later ask XYZ about this and he said he receive scam calls from the same party, asking him to pay some kind of debt! He already asked his solicitor to take the matter legally. It has been calling and texting both of us once in a little while, sometimes using a different number.

Stupid scam calls, so they think we are dumb enough to expose our personal details? Get real and f*ck off!!!!

Do not call this number, i.e. (02) 8599 7920. Best to report it to ACCC "report a scam".

Claims 2 unpaid bills from 2012 both with Origin. Kept insisting I live in a different location 4hrs away before finally getting it right. Tried to ring me once, and then started harassing my previous next door neighbour. No idea how they got her phone number. Creepy, immoral, scammers. Threatened to continue to harass people I know until I pay this "debt" saying they had a long list of people who know me. Ridiculous!

Called twice but i don't answer numbers i dont know. Then i got a txt with urgent message to call before 5pm. I did (stupid I know but I wanted to tell where to go) the number showed up on my scam watch as "nintendo" and a scam so I hung up and blocked them all.

Scam, even sent me a txt too. Didn't answer the call, they left a message addressed to a name I don't know saying to call back urgently.

Theyve called me about a supposed debt from about 20 years ago for a house my parents were renting for a service my name wasnt even on!!

Got a paper letter asking to call their office (02) 8599 7920 to discuss personal matter.
What a joke, the letter was addressed me, but that idiot used some unknown name and my family name typed improperly .
Tried to call him to tell him to f.... off , but did not response

Received missed call and then follow up text message stating to quote reference number before COB due to urgent matter. Didn't call them back as they messaged from another number. All numbers blocked

Son got message to call number & quote reference number. They asked him to confirm his birthdate & address. Which he did. Proceeded to tell him he had a debt from Origin back from 2012. Was never on a lease or power bill for that address. Didn't even live at the house at that time. Decided to google number & found this site. Needless to say he's pretty worried now because he did give personal information. Have reported to police & ScamWatch

Fake debt collector call, Do not give any personal details

I have a message from a mobile to call
This number and ask for Reynold Fernandes. I called and I got a basic domestic home phone message bank so it sure is no legitimate corporate business. The message gives me a reference number to quote and says if I don’t contact in 24 hours they will escalate the matter further. Scammers.

missed a call, got a text that used my 1st name to call this number & quote a ref no. I came here, saw its a scam. for sh*ts & giggles I called & got "allen" & I quoted the ref no & demanded what do they want? " allen" asked my name, I said you tell me.
He transferred me to reynold fernandes, reynold says hi pete, I say what do you want?
Reynold says is this pete? I say pete who? Is this pete? pete f*cking who? he say pete woss, I say pete ross? he say no pete woss, I say no d*ckhead not even close.
He say ok, we take you off. I say good, now f*ck off. I assume we will do this again tomorrow. cant wait...................
