RFSA is the association that deals with the members side of the RFS. They organise fund raising, scholorships and do a lot for the volunteers. A worthy cause as it supports all brigades around NSW ( including the ones that really could use it )

FAKE rural fire service. The rural fire service has a note on their webpage that they do not call anyone for raffles etc. any of these calls are scams.

due to the utter disrespect of this service I would walk on glass before I donated to this service. After DAILY phone calls from them and DAILY requests to stop have been ignored, the people who attempt this fundraising are doing this service a complete injustice.

I no longer donate to phone charities as they've become a plague. My local Bushfire Brigade get my donations.

Hello, if your RFS involved, advise to change as I receive calls, which either hangup on answer or hangup before answer. I am disabled & also have a speech impediment so I am used to being hung up on. Charity & Fund raising companies usually make time to understand me. These people don't. I provide financial assistance all over the world. This is a disgrace & unworthy to the whole RFB.

Have received multiple calls from this number over the last few days, sometimes many times a day. I hear nothing if I answer the call, not sure if the organisation is using an auto-dialler and it's broken, or if there's a jaded employee being a nuisance.

This is NOT a scam. The RFSA is a legitimate organisation that raises funds for the RFS although it is true that the RFS doesn't make fund raising calls themselves. I have heard that agents collecting money or conducting raffles for the RFS take a substantial cut for costs and prizes but still do important fund-raising. If you want to make a more significant contribution to this vital service, make a contribution directly to the RFS: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/about-us/sponsorship

The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA), an independent and separate organisation which represents our volunteers and staff, does sell raffle tickets over the telephone as a fundraising initiative. These raffles are conducted through a telemarketing company and comply with the requirements of the NSW Department of Gaming and Racing. The operators are required to establish their bona fides and offer a return call number. The Association may also send out pledge letters but does not solicit donations
