Missed call. Out of curiosity I called back. Message said “Thank you for calling Woolworths. This number is no longer in use. Funny really since someone called me on this number. Reported as spam and blocked.

Caller: Scammer-claimed to be woolworths rewards

Called w Indian accent. Said had request from Woolworths to replace my rewards card. (I had lost it). I said I didn’t request a new one cos have it stored on Apple wallet. I Said it was lost months ago, so without me making said request I can’t imagine they’d do this all this time later! She asked to confirm email address. I said what do you have. She didn’t have it. She asked to confirm home address, I said no as this could be a scam. I asked why she has my old last name, as I get Woolworths delivery and they use my correct new name. She said it’s a different department. Only thing I stuffed up was I answered “yes” to a question which they could’ve recorded to use in voice recognition software. I said she could be the person who found my card and be scamming me! She asked for the rewards card no. I said obviously I don’t have it as it’s missing!!! She said but you have it on your phone. I said if you’re really from Woolworths rewards you’d KNOW that there isn’t a number in the Apple wallet version, just your name and points balance!! Sheesh! I hung up. I called the number back and it indeed had a recorded message in English saying “hello and welcome to Woolworths”. May be a dumb system by the supermarket, or a highly evolved scam.

Did not leave a message. Number now blocked. I do not answer calls from numbers that are not in my contact list.
