I received recorded message that my account has been moved to Canberra because I had not responded to email sent for pension increase and this number was given. Upon ringing number Indian voice asked me my name and what pension I was on. I quoted reference number given and he still didn't know name. Very dodgy.

Centrelink are aware of this scam line being recently active and a call to their 1800 227 475 freecall line was what I did and might help reassure anyone who is stressed over potential threats to their support. My question is how can I get my computer to maintain a database from a service like ReverseAustralia, screen my calls so these don't get through, and even better: pretend to talk to these idiots so they're wasting their time!

Automated message scam from "Centrelink" to a gullible person this could possibly seem real, its no wonder they get away with conning some people. (I never believed it for a second)

Recorded message saying they were Centrelink and I should ring this number to get an increase to my pension. So the scumbags have apparently worked out threats don't work and they're trying a carrot. May they rot in hell.

Recorded message saying they are from Australian Taxation Office and that the office will be taking legal action against me. This sounds like a scam for as far as I am aware the ATO only sends out letters for taxation matters and never contacts like this by phone.
