Threatening robot message left about ten minutes ago indicating we would need to call a lawyer or face police on our doorstep. People should not call back at all. Block the number, if you can.

this number rang me, threathens me that i am being sued by ATO because i owed money and asking for my details. i blocked the number. be careful everyone.

As everyone else said, fake ATO call. If you call back they will link your number to your name and home address, to give legitimacy. Wanted $5k payment with either credit card or Coles vouchers. lol

So..... rang the number back to see if they would answer and to have some fun. Interested to see how far will the rabbit hole goes. Sadly the number is not connected..... damn!

Remember folks, the ATO will NEVER call you like this, and when you call them, you must go through their sophisticated voice recognition system. Just for fun, I called these guys back and asked for his ATO employee ID. He refused, asking me to identify myself first. I asked him to put me through to the Voice ID system - he just hung up! just got a call, very hard to understand. was told i am getting a refund of lots of money. when i said that i googled the number and looks like a hoax ... they hung up.

My Google phone shows a red screen with a Spam flag when those suckers are calling, I just refuse and block via my phone.
