Same here. Definitely a scam since the ATO does not contact people this way. Besides, they do not name the person of interest so it's a pointless call.

After a few of these calls I contacted the real ATO who checked my records and confirmed this is a hoax call.

Have now had 5 + calls, always left on my answering machine.
If I am home some time when they call they will have a strong verbal reply with 'MY' phone going down.

I got the same as above - message on answering machine. Hard to understand message except for "possible warrant for arrest" and the phone number which he clearly repeated twice. I know there is no problem with my tax so knew straight away it would be a scam call.

I received 2 calls telling me to phone this number as there is a discrepancy with my tax and they will issue a warrant for my arrest - they do not mention a name at all as to who they are trying to contact

I had several calls today regarding tax and not just for my name.. It's a scam they want you to go to a post office and pay into a western union account/transfer. I asked for proof and they could not provide it. When they rang for a third time and I advise that I have contacted the police they got abusive.

I have received phone calls from this number three days running. It appears to be a scam and has been reported to the ATO and WA's SCAMNET. This one always leaves a message and they asked me who I was when I phoned them back. I didn't tell them. I have previously had repeated calls from the another number. Telstra have blocked it (free) and I have had no further problems. Time to do it for this number too.
