Anyone who starts the conversation by asking "How are you today?" is very likely running a scam.

Caller: “Telstra” “Telstra” called and asked how I was today. I said fine thankyou and I’m not with Telstra and then I hung up. When I called back the number a recorded message said the number was incomplete or not registered. I’m on a Do Not Call register.
