Caller: Visa/Mastercard Scam Robocall saying that $500 had been debited from my Visa/Mastercard to pay Amazon and eBay. Press 1 to stop this.
Knowing it was a scam call I pressed 1 to find out how they would try to scam me.
Indian sounding person stated that my computer had been hacked and accounts on eVay and Amazon had been created in my name. He also stated that he would put a hold on the transaction and that he would send me a form to complete.
I asked if it was a .pdf form and he had no idea what that was (presumably it was not part of his script). He said that the form as a link to a site and then asked me if my computer was windows or Mac.
I said that I had an Amiga 5000 (yes it exists but I do not have one) he asked if it was an old computer (Amigas came out around 1986) I said no that it was a brand new model purchased short time ago.
Usually these people send you to a website to download a Remote Desktop Access program like any desk. This allows them to control your computer and do anything that they want. so it is not a good idea to do this. They use these programs to steal website access details, email logins, bank account passwords etc. as well as leave spyware, viruses and ransomware on your computer.
Also never go to a website and fill out any forms they will use this to get access to your accounts and steal your identity.

When my mobile rang, I did not answer. When I called back I received a recorded message that the number was disconnected or not in use. An obvious scam call...

Caller: Someone claiming they were from Telstra The usual scam call from someone claiming to be from Telstra and that someone was using my internet and they wanted to show me that it was happening and wanted to know how many lights were on my modem. At that point I called him out on it, let rip a few expletives as I am so annoyed with these same calls, told him I'm not an idiot and was onto him the moment he said he was from telstra and that someone was using my internet. He told me I am wrong it's not a scam so I yelled down the phone at him whilst he kept trying to be rude to me and then I hung up from him. Honestly - did they really think we are idiots!!!!!!!!!! Telstra never calls me unless I call them first with a problem or lodge a problem online with them - to which I haven't ever! Add to that my internet is not with Telstra. Ugh. So over these calls.

The things is this. Many ppl here pick up these unrecognised number. Mistake number 1. Or they have a missed call and call it back (mistake 2). And most do not report to ACMA. It's their job to deal with or fwd the numbers to Telcos to permananetly block and save us all the grief. SO PEOPLE REPORT THE SPAMMERS,SCAMMERS NUMBERS IMMEDIATELY! There's even an SMS number at ACMA you can directly fwd scam txts to. The bottom line is these ppl calling us are crims. Dob them in, and do not feed them.

Proof that Telstra is not blocking this number from scamming people. Report Telstra not the scammer. It's Telstra who know, and are negligent for not acting. If you recv a 2nd ,or more calls from the same number email the Communications Min and demand they fine Telstra for taking multiple millions in fees and a tax payer gift to stop numbers-but don't

Caller: Peter from NBN yet another scam - funny as when you look at this number you can see how many different companies they've pretended they were from. "Peter" told me that his 'desk ID' is D825026 when I'd asked him for his NBN staff number. He told me that they were doing NBN work in 'my street' and that I'd have some issues - when asking him what 'my street' was called, he came up with some dodgy street name nowhere near me.
