They left a message telling me I was being investigated for tax fraud. Told me I had to call them back or they were going to take a warrant out for my arrest. Given I always do my tax returns thru a highly reputable tax accountant I doubt I have anything to worry about. I'm curious to know if anyone else has received a call from this number ?

He started talking before I had a chance to speak. It sounded like a recording to me.
It said
‘Hi this Alexander L?? from the Australian Taxation Office....’
I just hung up.
If the ATO wants to talk to me they can do so through my accountant.

The caller says that he's Alexander Lee from the ATO Tax Avoidance and Tax Fraud team. He will be issuing a warrant for my arrest if I do not return his call immediately!

very rude indian man left me a msg and said ring back immediately do not ignore this msg. my number is private also. i rang back and he said australian tax dept. i said this number isnt the tax dept. he said why the f**k you ringing then and hung up.

Call the number or I'm going to jail. Usual crap. 4th call of this type - this month alone.
If I ever caught one of these people.... I don't want to be graphic - but I'm picturing a dark basement, dripping water, high voltage, testicles and some car jumper cables.

Just sayin...
