Harassing my elderly parents about' tax evasion' and pending 'law suit' before the commonwealth court. Disgraceful.

He's up to his old tricks again, claiming to be from the ATO.

Received a call today, same scam, rang them back to be abused and called a 'M______ F_____' amongst other rude names.
Rang them back a short time later and received the same verbal tirade, gave a bit back.
Lodged a complaint with the ATO scam line.
Might call them back again around 2am, see if they're awake! :-)

I also had a call from the same number saying there was a red alert out for me committing "mail fraud"

Received an identical today, more than 6 months latre. How come they can continue this scam on the same phone number?

Same thing as everyone else, called my 87 year old grandmother, very threatening, tax evasion and fraud all the rest. Not happy.

Yass, received call from John Matthews claiming we have tax avoidance and tax fraud to please ring him at the ato on this number. This is a scam. Report him.

Thank you, just had same msg on our answering machine, knew it must have been an error, our tax agent has been doing our tax for 20 years!!! Was a quite nasty message too, hope authorities catch up with him!! Was so good to see this information here 😀

Scam call from a John Matthews claiming to be from the ATO about nonpayment of taxes for which you will be taken to court or arrested for fraud if you do not pay- This is a scam hang up!!!!!

As above, came home today and found a message from "john Matthews". We could tell right away it was a scam, thanks for confirming it Mark.

Same deal. John Matthews from CDPP/ATO in Canberra saying a case has been raised for tax evasion/fraud. Try to call back and you get 'the number is not available'. This is not a Canberra number. Scam!
