Appears to be some sort of scammer. Knew my Alias name i give on social media. Thick indian accent, something about apex or Fx investments. Hung up after that

Zero trust cyber security is very important. Don’t engage with these calls

An unknown number to me, so I did not answer. A check on Reverse Australia confirmed it is a shonky caller.

Calls me at least once a day from different numbers.

Every call they give my full name.

I keep asking how they got my number.
They say they purchased it and that its from me recently investing in something.

I havnt investing in anything, I'm broke.

They refuse to say who they purchased it from.

If they call again I'm gonna start being abusive instead of polite.

Why do the phone companies let these a hole scammers use their network? I get at least 1 call a day, sometimes 3 or 4 mainly from 02 (Sydney) land lines. I’m a paying customer of Optus and they obviously don’t care for many scam calls I get a day. If they have a s**t I’m sure they could shut them down.

Caller: Apex Equity Advisors

Asked where they got my number and they said they purchased it, then said it was because I bought a property, car or investment recently. Some Asian with a fake US accent.
They were trying to sell some self driving/car automation crap. Looked at their website, their address is dodgy, their number doesn't work and the website looks all around dodgy. 110% scammers who have put in extra effort. Seemed like they wanted to forward my call to someone else, whod likely try to rip me off.

They know my name. As soon as I confirmed my name, they hung up. Indian accent.

Knows full name...and when questioned how they know my name hung up.

Offering investment in automotive technology. Knew my name. Wouldn’t tell me where they got it from. Hung up.

Caller: Did not answer the call

Blocked it immediately based on reports already for this number on reversaustralia.com.. definitely untrustworthy... Block / delete at all costs !!! SCAM !!!

Trying to sell fake investments, another scammer. Definitely one to block

Called. I tried to call back but could ‘not be connected’. Likely a scam.

Said they were from some equity group and knew my name. Told me they want to book an appointment. They had a strong female foreign accent and mumbled where they are from when I asked. I then asked for their name and they mumbled something not understandable again and diverted to talking more bs. Said I haven’t got time for this and hung up immediately
