same as what everyone said above but I was stupid enough to call back and answered their questions my name n spelt out my name and my postcode as soon as I told them that they hung up... I panicked and got scared fml so I searched and realised its a scam so I called the real ato office and lodge a scam report.

I got missed call from them. When I call back. A guy said that it was ATO and I have outstanding tax. I ask why ATO did not send the invoice to my email? He hang up.

Caller: A Call Center - definitely run by Indians

They left message that I would be arrested if I didn't call back. Suggested that it was a tax issue.
This is absolutely a scam designed to scare people.
I called them back from different landlines throughout the day and tried to waste as much of their time as possible. It's fun, I acted concerned and kept them talking. They eventually realise that you are taking the piss and they hang up - SUCCESS!
By close of business yesterday the number was disconnected - RESULT!

at first i was scared so i checked what to do online but then i was like this is a scam call isn't it and my hunch was confirmed on this website

I just had a call from (02) 8188 4251 on my mobile stating I had a ATO debt, and that they were collecting. voice was not Australian. I called the number back on a land line and the number rang, then after a while went blank and got hang up dial tone..

Was called by this number 26th March 2019 @ 4:30pm let call go to voicemail and was given an Automated message claiming if I didn't call back an arrest warrant would be issued.I blocked the number...didn't call back.

a man answered, had Aussie accent, claimed to be the ATO. His voice lacked the confidence of an official employee of the government. refused to tell me his name. "who am j speaking with?" ATO. can i have your name? ypu called me whats your name? a very government type response. scammer.

Scam, most likely india. tried to ring them back to tell them to f*ck off, rang out.

Robotic Voice: I want you to get back to me on my department number (phone number) now if we don't hear back from you, we will have to issue an arrest warrant and have to arrest you so get back to me as soon as possible

I called the number from my work landline and it just kept ringing with an odd sounding tone.

Scam call, pretending to be tax office, automated voice

Had the same call from this number claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office and that a lawsuit had been filed. Just blocked the number.
