Suspect APIA actually use an overseas Call Center although they pretend that they call from Sydney. They should be fined $ 200.000 for their deceit.

I work there, we are in Sydney. Sydney is a multicultural place hence the variety of accents!

Hi Did you get paid to defend them. You might have worked at the direct call center some time ago.

The 30 second delay in responding when I picked up my phone, and the terrible sound quality suggest they are using an overseas call center. No respectable Australian company would have such poor quality.

The direct call centre is in Sydney you fool - I used to work there. Just because someone has an Indian accent, doesn't mean the call centre is in India.

If they had an Irish accent, would you assume the call centre is in Ireland?

They claim the Call Center is in Australia. Believe this to be a blatant lie. Suspect the calls are from a Call Center in India. Indian accent, and poor sound quality, hard to understand what they are saying.

Had a very annoying call yesterday from APIA through the Direct Call Center. My phone is registered as a No Call Number on the ACMA register. Had a small argument with the caller who claimed that since I was an APRA customer, they were well within their rights to call me. I have reported it to ACMA, and hope they will get fined the maximum of $ 50,000 for breaking the rules.

After missing three calls from this number in the last two days, I called back (after business hours so I'd get their message) and it is the 'Direct Call Centre' for Suncorp Group (which also incorporates companies like GIO and Apia) calling about 'insurance products and services' that might 'interest' me. No thanks.

They drove me absolutely mad calling on behalf of Suncorp. After I escalated the complaint to DCC's management three times to be put on their Do Not Call list - which seems to double as a Call A Minimum Of Four Times Daily List - I rang Suncorp's Customer Relations team on 1800 689 762 and advised I was on the verge of pulling $6k worth of insurance. The lovely gentleman sorted it immediately - haven't heard from them since.

I'm getting calls from this number about 5 times a day. If I answer there's nothing on the other end for a few seconds then they hang up.

They have called my work direct dial number for the past two weeks. When I answer it hangs up. Very annoying. I just don't answer it now.

They keep calling my mobile but I haven't answered it. Searched the number and found this page, at least I know to keep ignoring it now.Is there a way to stop cold calls on mobiles?

Keep getting nuisance calls from this number twice a day! very annoying :-/

Hi Guys and Girls,

I add all these marketing numbers to my phone and list them as ignore1, ignore2, ignore3 etc

That way when they ring i can identify them and press cancel on my mobile phone which then sends them directly to my message bank and they get charged for the call. Usually they hang up before it gets to message bank, that way they don't get charged for the call. If they do leave a message i just delete it. If they are going to call me it is going to cost them for annoying the crap out of me!!
