why all the fuss jus pick the phone up and say hello answer yes or no is that hard to do??? someones got to do the job right??

I got two calls from these people today at around 4.30/4.45pm. Called back and it went to a recording about 'direct marketing' or something. Very annoying.
How these people even got my number is beyond me considering this is a new number (only days old) and I have not changed any contact details on any accounts with banks etc.

Yep. I recieved a call (02) 8094 4220 today around lunchtime. They called and hung just after I said "Hello (My Name) Speaking" No idea of who it was until I saw this forum and after thinking about it I agree that it was likely Comm Insure. I conicidentally got some ads in the mail yesterday asking me to sign up for "loan protection insurance".
Is there a polite way of saying F*#K OFF to these guys?

I worked at 2evolve for 3 weeks as I had previous experience with a call centre - the turnover there was indeed insane. They lost 4% of their staff a day. My first week of working they took out $50 for a compulsory headset on OH&S grounds. Under OH&S act it's illegal to charge for PPE I'm pretty sure (admittedly I'm not a lawyer). As a standard week is 25 hours this is a fair chunk. In my 2nd week my pay got stuffed up, though they did fix it, I used that as an excuse to get out.I've worked all over eastern Australia for 'charity' and can tell you that it's a rort - most of the people facing the public are working for private companies who misrepresent to their sellers how much money they are actually passing on to the charity. You're a professional guilt trip artist. Make friends with the public, lay a guilt trip on them offer your service as the solution, then your supervisors lay a guilt trip on you. Just go to the website if you want to give to charity and avoid dodgy raffles, etc.

I recieve calls from these people constantly. I don't bother answering anymore but they are so persistent.

I have been receiving calls from this number normally twice a day... I remember answering one a few weeks back and being hung up on and so I haven't answered it since. I'm with u guys about the Loan Insurance as I also received some paperwork on it in the mail recently. Is there any way we can stop these people calling us? I am already meant to be on the Do not call register but obviously they have found a loop hole. :/ annoyed!
