My mom received a call similar to this, the address they give is for Tourism NZ; and the name was unable to be recognized of the caller himself - though the details of the supervisor are Sean Mitchell; who supposedly needs drivers liscence details to get through to the supervisor. (Sean Mitchell is listed as the publisher of techday for NZ that is..) Feverishly tried to ask for contact, identity and monetary details - the only thing mom said was WHICH bank she was with and not her bank number. Originally the guy said he was from the NZ government, and then changed to saying Government Body, 147 Victoria Avenue Central Auckland 1010. (Tourism NZ)

BE CAREFULLMONEY SAVING EXPERTI got this call today. He sad his name is James Parker. His boss's name Michael Snabar and they located in 18 Lee Street, Chippndale, Sydney, phone (02) 8006 2813. My last question was if he can give me their company web site, so I can have a look and read more abouit it. After this question the person on the other side of the phone got upset and yeld a few sentances in Hundo before hung up.

Had the same thing happen to me today. He said his Name was Stanley Stanford and his managers name was Lawrence Smith. I was to call Lawrence Smith on (02) 8014 7524 for further details on collecting $3647.00. He gave me a reclaim number SI 1921 to validate and then asked for my surname, suburb and mailing address.

I have just received a call from Paul Smith from Bank Reclaim Experts who told me that I had $4851 owing to me from my bank and that they represented a department of the Australian Govt.
He then told me to ring his supervisor and quote appication code MS141 (Mildred Parker ph (02) 8006 1421) I contacted her and she then rang me back after confirming my details on her file. Name, address DOB which they already knew!!!!
She told me to go to the post office as I had to pay the tax before they would give me the cheque. I was instructed to send a money order in favor of S.P. Ray, Velhi, India for $199-00 plus $25 fee. She told me not to tell the post office that it was for tax as then they would charge me $100-00.
She infiormed me that there was a representative (Jack Brown) in my area and that I had to do this before 2pm today. She even quoted the cheque number and gave me another ID # 38560091 that I had to quote to the representative. I asked her for the address of the head office and she told me 111 Bourke Street Melbourne and the phone number is (03) 9016 0580 - answering maching!!!!
Do these people think we are total idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes  - just happened to me too - I did contact my bank afterwards jsut to alert them that I had got a scam call & my bank said to be careful and not call the number they left as it also can rack up a bill on your phone !!!Brian - and his manager Emily Rogers  - grrrrr They said they were from the Reclaims department of the Australian Government Reclaims Department I should have known the government would NOT be giving me any money back - so was a bit suspect from the start but these guys are good! got my mobile number now and my date of birth - grrrrrr urge you to report it on the government's  scamwatch website too!

got a call from some guy (indian or P***) , I think from international fonelink  although he says he was in Sydney at the time..Lying I am fairly sure!!. As all the others have written before me...same lines used::: I have $5248.00 waiting for me. I said send me a cheque, ok he says then starts asking me all the questions as other people above have been asked. I said to him..if you know how much to the exact cent I am owed , then why is it that u do not know which bank it is owed by ?.. He then started telling me about solicitors fees needing to be paid etc etc.. I said to him: but you have just spent the last 5 minutes telling me the exact figure """ a """ bank owes me... now you want to know which bank and are asking me for solicitors costs.....Naaaah ! , your are a scammer I said , in fact ( I was sitting at the computer when the phone call came in ) so I just googled the name of your Company and google lists about 30 items where you are shown to be scammers !! No no no he rants...yes yes yes I protested... He threatens me that if I am rude and discourteous to him that he will hang up on me......So, I dropped the phone on him..... Be warned ...these people are clever and devious !!

im writting because i to had a phone call today from the reclaim office of the australian federal government stating if i pay $190.00 to the western union at the post office then i would get a cheque from peter thomas to the amount of $5,248.00 i asked to talk to an australian and they hung up then i questioned them and they hung up i then rang the ACCC then i rang the scammers back an questioned them again and they hung up so i am ringing them again and again to hound them like they do their phone number is :(02) 8011 3830
