My mom received a call similar to this, the address they give is for Tourism NZ; and the name was unable to be recognized of the caller himself - though the details of the supervisor are Sean Mitchell; who supposedly needs drivers liscence details to get through to the supervisor. (Sean Mitchell is listed as the publisher of techday for NZ that is..) Feverishly tried to ask for contact, identity and monetary details - the only thing mom said was WHICH bank she was with and not her bank number. Originally the guy said he was from the NZ government, and then changed to saying Government Body, 147 Victoria Avenue Central Auckland 1010. (Tourism NZ)

My mum just rang me saying she received a call from these people but her amount was $7,500. i told her i would Google the company and see what comes up. Of course it's a scam, she got given the supervisor to re assure her, a reference number, and the address was Surrey Hills...

I just had THE call. Michael Shnider. Money Saving Expert Govt. Dept. Ph. 09 8893706.I phoned the police and they have had the same call but the call was terminated very quickly when they heard it was the police.
The call is rerouted using an Auckland number.

I received a call at my workplace offering to give me a cheque for a few thousand dollars.
The caller called himself Ricky Lawson he stated he was from The Fair Trading department and a money saving expert who had discovered we were overcharged by our bank. He had a foreign accent which I found exceedingly difficult to understand.
He asked me for my Bank name and my drivers licence number so he could confirm my identity. He gave his phone number as (02) 8006 4959 and his departments address as 28 Lee Street Sydney 2000. He also gave me a claim number. When I refused to give him any of my personal information he called me a liar and a cheat continually and was rude and abusive. I stated that as I worked for a government department myself I felt his customer service skills were flawed and I did not believe a word he said.
I then hung up on him.
I am concerned that he had my name and direct work number and would like to know how he got these details and who I can report him to.

Yes I just got a call from "Australian Council Bank Reclaim Department" his name was Michael with an Indian accent and claims there was $3114 waiting for from bank overcharges and i was to go to the local post office and Get a Western Union money sending and Money receiving forms and to have $150 to send to them to receive my claim. The number I had to call was (02) 6100 3698 and claimed that they were doing this business for the Australian Government in India because it it cheaper to do there.
He claimed their Website is www.bankreclaimexperts.com  which of course does not exist.
Definitley a scam

I had a strange call from a Frank Cameron.  He had an accent.  He claimed he was from the Department of Justice Reclaiming section.  He said I was owed $5248.  He gave me a reference number AR886 and a Sydney phone number (02) 8007 5535.  The detail he asked for was my full name, date of birth and name of my bank.  He stressed he did not want my account number.  He wanted me to ring the above Sydney number to confirm the call.  He asked if the money should be put in the bank or send a cheque.  I said to send the cheque.

I WAS TO GO TOO THE POST OFFICE AND PAY 210.00 DOLLARS FOR TAX UPON A 3647,00 REFUND FROM BANK CHARGES AND THE BUSINESS WAS CALLED RECLAIM EXPERT. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT FED X WOULD DELIEVER A CHECK TOO EITHER MY WORK OR HOME ADDRESS.
WHEN I SAID I HAD TOO GO TOO WORK NOW AND I WOULD DO IT TOMMOROW HE BECAME EXTREMLY RUDE AND UPSET WITH ME THANK GOD I CHECKED THIS OUT AND NO I DEFINATELY WON'T BE GOING.
