Called stating they’re from the Australian Taxation Office. Kept asking for details and stated my name had been put on the fraud register for money laundering and fraud.. when I asked him “how do I know you’re actually calling from the ATO”, he hung up..

Indian guy, I hung up and blocked the number

I picked up the phone because it was right next to me, listened without saying anything, no one spoke, they hung up, and I then left the connection open for the next three hours while I had a sleep. It probably does no good - I don't know what technology these scamming scum-suckers use - but if nothing else it stopped them or any other lowlifes calling me for a while.
Please, everyone, we've been aware of these miserable scams for years. Don't answer the phone to unknown/unexpected callers and don't believe a single word they say if you do answer (especially when it's obviously total nonsense). Put the vile halfwits out of business, and give everyone some blessed peace.

Said he was with the emergency banking safety department and wanted me to hand over my bank account and ios device to him

Said they were from national broadband network. When I started asking questions, she told me to get lost !

NBN… and your internet connection is going to be cut.

Scam call - pretending to be ato

When I answer the phone the caller hangs up. I instantly blocked the number.

ATO apparently.... hung up and called back.. number doesn't even ring.

Keeps calling and soon as I answer hangs up

Message left on voice mail but I didn't hear who the call was from - threatening with warrant for arrest - stated the issue was time sensitive and wanted a call back Obviously a scam but someone could be frightened by the threatening nature of this call.

A recorded male voice. Claimed to be from the ATO and threatened an arrest warrant and execution if I didn't respond

Be Careful it's a scam saying from ATO and asking for our detail then will issue a warrant arrest if we don't stay on line or pay money.
Don't be scared and call back especially giving them your detail.
