They called me too. For me, they are just like scamming.

They always call and they aren't Aussie it is sooo annoying

I have a mobile 10c a minute and no flagfall.
I ring back and when they answer, hang up. No more calls, must have blacklisted me.

They call with an automated dialer and hang up. The recorded message assumes you are returning a missed call.

And its not make a wish, its Kidzwish, a differnt organisation.

The number belongs to a legitimate company that helps australian charities. Contradiction really given how they treat some of the people that work for them.

I used to work for the company mentioned here, and yes, they are a legitimate company which is contracted by the various charities to raise funds. I do happen to know who the company is, and I will contact them if I need to.

The key is to ask the operator to remove from your details the call list, and if necessary, insist on speaking to a supervisor or team leader. They are then, by law, required to follow through with your request.

If your instructions are not followed, you can have the matter raised either through legal proceedings or by simply lodging a formal complaint through the relevant charity, who will then deal with the matter. Matters raised via the charities' head offices DO get dealt with, as it is their reputation on the line.



ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT CHARITY CALLS (& SOME COMMERCIAL CALLING) IS PERMISSABLE, BY LAW UP UNTIL 8PM IN AUSTRALIA. CHARITIES ARE ALSO EXEMPT FROM THE DNC REGISTER.

Had a call from Make a wish foundation tonight from this number. The man was very rude to me as I was not the person he was after and would not tell me where he was calling from.

This is for the Kids Charity hotline - They cold call households to participate in their raffles.
