Just walked out of an Optus store after changing a few things on my account & missed a couple of calls from this number. Does not mean I'm going to choose another server - Oputs have given me excellent service for many years & would never go elsewhere. A few years ago I answered one of these calls from Optus & they gave me a much better deal on my current package

I have just received a call from this number. It was an Optus technician trying to resolve an issue I have with my phone. Very helpful.

I have just started receiving these calls around 2 weeks ago even though I have been with Optus for around 4 years. They seem to call daily, varying times but always business hours which is highly inconvenenient when your in meetings, driving etc. I am on the phone to Optus now as it is a joke that, according to the net, this is a call from Optus Sales and they can't be bothered leaving a message, what's the point of wasting multiple calls, if I haven't returned it I don't want it!!!!!

I have had a 2 year long issue with Optus overcharging me by hundreds of dollars for 'excess' data usage when their bonus data offer "dropped off the system" after making some changes to my account .. then they 'graciously' offered to pay some back, claiming I needed to take some responsibility also (but it was their system stuff-up!). The call from this number was from an EXCELLENT Optus rep ('agent' is what they call themselves) called LYNETTE (ID 56710) who said she'd continue looking into my case and would call me back so I didn't have to keep explaining myself to a whole parade of agents who just didn't get it!! After answering the call from this number I am FINALLLLLY .. after a 24 month long saga .. making headway into sorting this matter out; I am only just now feeling heard rather than feeling SCREWED OVER! (Thank you Lynette : )

I too have had many calls from this number, it is a call centre. The beep you hear is an automated system, if you answer with your business, or personal name, they will call you from a wide variety of other numbers, probably using VOIP, and try to con you into assorts of rubbish. It is far more difficult to identify as a scam when they address you by name.

Best idea, don't answer!

Came here to find out whho called me twice on a Sunday. Have been with optus for years and I think they have fantastic service but please leave me alone on the weekend, I didn't answer of course but a company should not even consider calling on a weekend.

I had a call from GRAEME level 3 tech support. He is a legitimate Optus tech however he is a rude and unhelpful man and I suggest he learn some etiquette in dealing with customers. After over an hour on hold, and five customer service reps hopefully I can make a complaint.

Yeah, bad call from Optus to spam their own customers. For me it was easy to solve. I called them up and opted out of all marketing. Haven't been called since then.

I am with Telstra and received a call from this number. The caller was trying to sell me Optus. He asked for personal details like address, email and D.O.B sounded dodgy so I told him I was not interested.

Even so, I am glad a Google search led me here to confirm what I already suspected.

Bad news. I was previously through Optus, but have now switched to a different provider who go through Telstra. Still getting the calls!!! Looks like the only way to avoid it is to go to a new provider and change numbers, and that is too much bother for me.

I get the same number 3 times a day. I was with Telstra and never had this problem.  weeks ago i switched to optus and thats when all this s**t started to happen.I dont answer and dont ring it.

This is soooo annoying. This phone no. rings me on average 3 times a week lately.I'm in Melb, know no-one in Sydney, so I know straight away that it a SCAM.I'm with Optus mobile. I had a situation similar to this at the start of the year. I rang Optus customer service to get them to take me off their SCAM list. The INDIAN voice said to me that all will be okay in 6 months...yep, she told me it would take THAT LONG!!!I agreed to it. No doubt she was speaking from New Delhi & she doesn't make the rules anyway.But, this new phone number annoys me 6 months later!!When I'm shopping, or waiting for a new job start (I'm unemployed) as I've been to several job interviews lately. Or in other instances which I've been awaiting calls from friends, family...this phone number rings. It really ANNOYS ME.I'm calling Optus Customer Service again tomorrow to BLAST THEM!!!!I'M PISSED OFF. PS> the ACCC can't do anything, because that Mr Samuels (who's in charge) is of Jewish origin, and 99% of million dollar companies here in OZ are run by people of Jewish origin (eg, petrol, finance, bank, phone companies etc...)So, Mr Samuels is on their side (businesses), not ours!!!!
