I am an 80 year old pensioner and I nearly have a heart attack every time it rings- but only for too few rings for me to answer it before it disconnects. How do I stop these people from phoning me?

Called today (Perth), no-one there. Added to my block list.

I have started getting regular hang up calls from this crowd. Only once have they spoken to me and I was short and sweet with 'em.
Backyard Buddies toys are fund raisers for themselves don't get caught out.

I now have them come up on my phone as "Ignore" and we just let it go to the answering machine. I also changed the tone on my phone so when I hear their personal tune I don't even get up to answer it anymore.

Its a scam. They want money to "protect" "endangered" species from climate change. what climate change? what a croc.
How about they protect children first ?

I called it back and the message said they were from the Burndette Insitiute for Medical Research. Number blocked

received a call from a man (gave his name but can't remember it) stating he was from National Parks and wildlife. I was not in a good mood as I had just finished a call from an overseas scammer saying they were from Centrelink. I bluntly asked this caller did he want money. When he said yes I told him I would not help him. He said ok, goodbye and hung up.

Yep, same here. Repeated calls, never leave a message. Annoying.

rings daily -between 9-10am- pick up phone but no one there

I receive from 15-30 scam, telemarketer, and debt collection agency calls a month. These would all call at the most inconvenient times of the day.

So i purchased a home phone that permits you to block calls, after setting up the phone basically hangs up on blocked, private and those International labelled numbers. Any genuine callers the phone rings or they leave a message.

Each evening before I retire i check the call register and get a giggle out of the idiots who keep trying to call.

Alternatively I found by asking for information they pretty well hang up with no encouragement for example.

Yes same scammers calling again ...... but now they are on my call block list

some telemarketer or other. They make constant calls. Mainly happens after I have ordered something online and had to give a phone number as a result. Think websites might be selling their phone lists or something.

Your phone should have a "call barring" option. You don't even hear it ring and it comes up later on your screen as an unanswered, barred call.

Got a call from this number on 25 March - woman stating she's calling from National Parks & Wildlife and that the call may be recorded. Then started to talk about Backyard Buddies. It sounded like a fund raising scheme so I said that I make significant donations to the Zoo and the caller said "Well they wouldn't know anything about conservation" and hung up. Very rude.
