I've been receiving ring-silence-hangup calls from the following numbers all week:
(02) 8023 0153 / (02) 8023 0153 / (02) 8023 0153
(02) 8023 0267 / (02) 8023 0267 / (02) 8023 0267
(02) 8023 0431 / (02) 8023 0431 / (02) 8023 0431

According to the notes for (02) 8023 0000 on 800notes.com, around Oct-2007 it was American Express trying to upgrade existing customers. I've never been an Amex customer, though.

Someone commented more recently in the notes for (02) 8023 0431 that it's GE Capital Finance trying to sell money insurance. This makes more sense as I was once, many years ago, a Buyers Edge (GE Capital Finance) customer.

It's probably a single marking/customer service firm, though, that's getting subcontracted by Amex, GE and who knows who else. Hope this helps somebody.

I have just got a call from (02) 8023 0431.  She said they were the Financial Advice Service and asked me if I had got an email from them.  She know my Whole name!

I saw someone mention HSBC, we do have accounts with them so I wonder if it's just their sales department being outsourced to this "financial advise Centre". Once when we did answer they were trying to flog us credit card insurance.

picked up when they called and there was no answer.
