Mrs Crisp

Just got a call, started out with a lady claiming to be from 'federal magistrates court Sydney' and James Hall had been asked to sue me by CPR global because I took their services to stop telemarketing and nuisance calls.  Said I never heard of them, never asked anyone for any such service.  Knew straight away something was up because they had my address slightly wrong, used my maiden name and said I had given my Westpac bank account which is now closed.  I kept arguing with her, asked her to spell her name, she put me through to her 'senior' person, a guy whose name I didn't get.He then tried the same thing, I asked when I was supposed to have used the services, at the same time I was searching online for CPR Global and James Hall.  I found a release for the SA government and started reading it aloud to him.  I said I was going to call the police and he said 'F@%# the police' I said pardon and he said it again.  I called him a w**ker, said good luck suing me and hung up on him.  Then rang local police station and reported it.

Just had the same call. They claimed to work for the australian federal court and knew my husbands full name, address, and some bank details. Claimed that he was due in Sydney magistrates court in 2 days for fraud due to giving a false bank account number when paying for the services of CPR global direct. When I suggested it was beginning to sound like a scam they became very abusive and threatened to sue me for defamation as well. The contact number which I called after the initial call to find more information was (02) 8007 4221, again for a solicitor by the name of Mr. James Hall. I have reported this to scamwatch and also the federal magistrates court. Is there any other useful action I should take?.

I received a similar call a few hours ago from a Jazz Smith representing the Federal Magistrate Court in Sydney asking me to front up in court at 10:30am this Friday morning to answer to fraud charges brought up against me by CPR Global represented by a Mr James Hall.  When she had difficulty answering my probing questions, she passed the call to a Peter Grisham who stated the same thing but he was rude, aggressive & threatened me with defamation. After a lengthy call to Mr James Hall (02) 8007 4221) whereby I asked why wasn't I served a summons by registered mail and that I never had any telephone transaction with CPR Global and never gave them any banking details, he put me on hold & never rang back. He threatened that if I don't appear for the hearing I'll be arrested by the local police & extradited to Sydney & jailed without bail.  He also asked me if I needed his help as I was being sued for more than $6,000.  Maybe an out-of-court settlement?I went to my local police station to report this disturbing call and was told by the officer that it was a scam, and that I should ignore such future calls.A few minutes ago I received a call from a male Indian-sounding voice representing the local police station that two police officers would be coming to arrest me. I was asked to provide him my address! All these callers had Indian-sounding voices but with Anglicised names!Hope this helps!  Beware!

Hi Guys,These crooks have been calling my house as well - scared my wife quite badly as well given that its a very well researched scam...all the details, addresses and names for the sydney court and 'solicitor' match real people and places - the lady is VERY pushy and has called a few times. Spread the word otherwise someone will be caught out soon.MelbourneFamily

My wife got a call from this bloke too.  When I called "James Hall" it was quite obviously routed to India.  He said that my wife had been doing abusive nuissance phonecalls in Sydney and that certain ethnic people wanted to sue her for......I think it was $9600 or something like that.  By this stage I knew it was a hoax and I was politely probing for his details.  He didn't give away any.  Basically I said that we weren't going to be there for the court date (Sydney is 2000km away from us to start with) and that he was quite welcome to send through the papers to our address- which he won't have of course. It really grinds my gears because she is the most innocent, loving spirit and she didn't deserve this traumatic experience.Remember, if someone is going to sue you then you will be served with paperwork from a law firm and given a number of weeks and months to present yourself and prepare your defence.  Don't give any other details over the phone.  People who demand money through deception are evil and you can politely end the call any time you want without repercussion- CHAKLONKY!http://trace.meebby.com/mobile-number-starts-with-80069663.aspx

Had exactly the same call re due in Sydney court  Thursday - from "James Hall Solicitors on behalf of CPI Global for the National Bank", but the number was (02) 8007 4221. We apparently had  contracted CPI Global services for a service and they had not been paid. The call was obviously from a call center, much background noise. I asked for Mr James Hall to call me back --- am still waiting!!!!
