Just got a phone call from an Indian woman claiming to be from the Accident Investigation Unit. I told her to go and F@#k herself and hung up. Any time anyone with an indian accent rings me I do the same thing. Its a dirty country full of lying, thieving losers.

I just had a call from someone with an Asian accent - probably indian - claiming to call from accident investigation asking to speak to the person that was involved in a car accident 2 years ago. I asked her which car she was talking about. I got quite stressed out because my husband is out in den car and with her strange accent all I could understand was accident. When I realised she was talking about an accident 2 years ago I asked her which car she was talking about. That was a question she apparently could not answer. She said that she must have the wrong number and hung up. Where do those people get my number? It's unlisted and I'm on the no-call register.

I too have had a call from these people, but they cannot give me any information regarding this accident that I may or may not have had, in a car that I may or not have owned, around 2 years ago. She could not give me any details "because of privacy reasons" so when I told them to contact my solicitor at 1800 BITEME the call was abruptly terminated. So I suggest we all start giving this company that number and hope they will all get the message that we are aware of the scam

BEWARE another INDIAN CALL CENTRE SCAM!! I had the same number call me. It was an Indian lady called Lisa. She claimed she was also from the Accident Hotline in Newcastle Sydney and she had information that I had been in an accident and had a $5000 claim. She told me a weird long address number which is non existent in Hunt street Newcastle when I questioned her. I played her game and then told her I am reporting you to various bodies! She was so brazen. Whilst talking to her on another line when she supplied me with her number I called and another DODGY indian man answered then hung up! If we call the number now it rings out or says its BUSY! Everyone should report this to SCAM WATCH & POLICE! I am so sick of these Indian scam calls & fraudsters! The problem is various companies outsource to countries alike India and the Philippines and these fraudsters infiltrate and due to international laws etc.. get away with this FRAUD & SCAMS! I say keep our calls centres in AUSTRALIA!!!

I have lost count how many times those losers call and say "Oh Hi I believe you have recently been in a car accident" calls.... not just one a day , one day I counted 72 times they phoned. So I thought stuff this I invested in a cheap whistle and this morning I finally got my revenge the man says "Oh Hi I believe you have recently been in a car accident" and I said no mate but there's about to be one (insert loud whistle blowing into phone) then I hung up. Havent had another call back since. They wont listen to the fact you havent been in an accident or verbal abuse telling them to F Off so this is what they seem to understand. Trust me I've tried every angle to get rid of the constant scam calls. Go buy a whistle people !!

I am in Canberra and we've had a couple of these calls int he last week. Woman with a strong non-Australian (possibly Indian) accent, claiming to be from the "Accident Investigation Bureau" regarding compensation for a car accident in the last two years (which we haven't had), and then being extremely evasive in response to simple, direct questions. It was pretty obvious that it was a scam, and it appears it's been doing the rounds for a long time! The phone number was (02) 8006 4574, but I expect it was routed through from overseas.

I keep getting calls for the past few weeks from people with an Indian accent determined to tell me that I have been in an accident and haven't had anything given back to me! I kept trying to tell this loser that I hadn't been in an accident and that he is an embarrassment to his Indian community. He still kept persisting and I had to hang up. The call prior to that abused me in filthy language when I told him that he should be ashamed of himself and that he was con artist! I am sick and tired of rushing to answer the phone at the most inconvenient of times only to be speaking to a scum bag Indian loser. Is there something that we can do to stop these parasites?

I got 4 calls today from them asking about an accident, I had just been in an accident two weeks ago because of a driver off his head. I asked how they got my number as I had not made a claim. And they said the police gave it to them. I then hung up and rang the station. I was then informed I had done the right thing and should they call back get their name, age, date of birth, company name and trading number. That usually stops them. Then report it to the ACCC with what information you did get.

I'm sick of these callers. I've had them (Accident claim services) *or something like that. Call my house. I can't even understand their accent or what they say half the time.. but I do get the part about them saying 'I understand you've been in an accident a while ago right'? I always reply by saying no i haven't.. These calls have been going on now for a couple of years and they ring at least twice a week. Last week I asked to speak to their supervisor, who talked less English than the previous caller. But I did say to him to stop calling me and that I will report them to the police. so I got nowhere.. I keep telling them I haven't had an accident and how did they get my number since it's silent (private) .. I just keep hanging up.. but since this does not work, I might try some of what you guys have done.. I'm just sick of these phone calls..

I have had the same car accident scam ring every Thursday for the last 6 weeks.it has reached a point where I actually looking forward to their calls. It gives me a chance to blow off some steam by abusing the hell out of them. They tell me there has been a car accident, I tell them they are about to have an accident, or I get to practice my four lettered word vocabulary. I had one caller listen to the abuse for about 5 minutes before I ran out of breath and had to hang up on him, Cannot wait to continue that conversation with him. Do not stress over the scam callers, turn it into a source of entertainment for yourself, think of imaginative ways to annoy, upset, insult or simply piss them off. But never give them any personal information.
