Voice message left from Tax Office stating they have tried to contact me numerous times. As I have not responded they advised that I am now being charged with fraud. I did not call back as this is not the tax office number, nor would they leave a message with such a threat.

Strangely enough they didn’t bother or dare to leave a message on my phone! I’ve forgotten what my message bank says... But it’s a good idea to put a comment in your message bank to let scammers know you screen their calls. Yeah, I never answer these calls and ALWAYS look them up before ringing back. 89.9% of the time the unknown number - pretend landline or mobile - is a scammer or someone that wants money, 10% are people selling things like solar power, roller shutters etc (although sometimes they sound like 13yo kids). 0.1% is a plumber or tradesman that I’m waiting for to come and fix my toilet, gutters or the like - and it’s WORTH googling the number... That’s how I avoid these people. I don’t answer my home phone and only one person I know knows the number. That person calls and I see the number - sometimes the landline phone rings all day.. All scammers or telemarketers. The phone has almost become obsolete - only trust things in writing, people!!!

Caller: Some kind of debt collector

Missed the call but they left a message saying they'd been investigating me and my family and had been trying to contact me, due to the lack of contact the matter is now considered.. and thats where the phone cut them off.. I'm assuming they went on to threaten to arrest me.. Let them try..
