Caller: "Vodafone Billing Department" Scam Caller with thick accent claiming to be from "Vodafone Billing Department". The operator instantly went into a spiel about trying to offer me a discount on my phone bill for 3 months. 🧑🏼 Me: "Which company are you calling from?" (because I couldn't ascertain through the operator's accent) 📞 Operator: *pause* 🧑🏼: "I'm sorry. Could you spell that, please?" 📞: *paper shuffling* "V for Victor, O for Oscar, D for Delta..." (etc). 🧑🏼: "Oh, Vodafone? I am not actually one of your customers, sorry" 📞: "You're not a customer? Shame on you, sir. Go jump into the river." *hangs up*
Either this is a scam, or the Vodafone call centre staff need significant customer service training!

Caller: woman with strong indian accent Claimed to be from Vodafone, offered me a discount on my next 3 monthly bills if I can provide her with my account PIN. I hung up on her, but she called back 3 times until I picked up. Told her my wife works for Vodafone (funnily enough she really does), asked her which office she was with, because maybe she knows my wife! She muttered something, I hung up on her again. Silence.
'Tis a scam folks.
