Supposedly from tax department and AFP and threatening arrest

Recorded message, in British accent, that there is some case filed against "me" - it was not specific as to a name. They had called my work number.

Said that I needed to call the number to sort it out and other threats of legal action.

I called the number and someone with a slight Indian accent answered. They asked my name. Asked his name. He got annoyed and asked who I wanted to speak to. I said I did not know, I was just told to call the number. He hung up.

leaves a mechanical message on voice mail "not to ignore and to call them back immediately". When called they asked me to help them with my number I gave the number and then they asked who they were speaking to and I gave them my name but as this is a business number I did not know if it was for me or my boss and so I asked and they hung up on me!

A pre-recorded message claiming to be the Australian tax office, that a complaint was made and a warrant for my arrest is on the way unless I call them back immediately. SCAM!!

Another ATO scam. A recording comes up stating it is the Federal Police. Basically saying you have a warrant out for your arrest due to an outstanding tax debt.
