had a call from an Indian sounding male advising me that my computer has a virus and that the firewall had expired. If I paid a renewal; fee to 'Microsoft' I can have my firewall reactivated.

Indian male caller, said he was from Windows Technical Support. I questioned him as to the name of the company he worked for. He replied Microsoft, I then pushed for his phone number which he gave. Then I told him Microsoft never calls anyone, especially at 7.30pm, that he was a vulture. He hung up on my.Another Indian call centre scammer.

I also got an Indian guy from 'technical.. Microsoft software'.
I'm bit of a technical computer expert, so was interested in where he was going to lead me. I had similar calls before but kept putting the phone down as I was pretty busy, but this time I had time to listen.
He showed me some windows event logs and falsely claimed the logs were all caused by a virus, then he showed me some system files and blatantly claimed they were viruses that had been downloaded.
He then wanted to take over my computer (using teamviewer), so I quickly booted up a different computer that wasnt important, and let him control that. He then downloaded iobit software, which is actually good software I recommend, as to show me there were issue with the machine. This software always finds issues - highly recommended scan, but then he tried to sell me his 'anti-virus' based upon this.
When I was unwilling to give a credit card number, he showed me some company details.. ABN: 29-002-589-460 (North Ryde), his number (above), and said I could call back.
