Caller: Same as first

Same person rang saying his name was Patrick Kayden and he was from Visa/Mastercard and they had stopped a payment from my account this morning at 9.30am for $650 to a Brian Turner. He gave me his ID number and said they were in North Sydney and worked with all banks but when I asked what was the name of the company he said they were with the government and were the Accounts and Cards Department he wanted to transfer me to my banks head office but I said I would ring my bank and hung up on him. Total scam.

Had a call from this number today "payment authorisation team" saying that an attempt was made to withdraw $630.25 from my account in the Commonwealth Bank at 9:30 this morning but they suspected this to be fraudulent so they stopped the payment. . This individual called himself Patrick Kayden and after some conversation, during which I expressed doubts about this call, he assured me that they act for many banks and I agreed to be put through to the bank (still having great doubts). At the "Commonwealth Bank" end, I heard the real bank phone recording giving options etc but a voice suddenly introduced himself as Tony Marshall and he went through what had happened and said that they would refund the money to my account. Obviously, if the payment was stopped as the first caller said, a refund would not be necessary so that and some other things raised my suspicions further. I asked him to ring me back in half an hour and I then rang the Commonwealth. They told me that it was definitely a scam. When "Tony" rang back I told him what I thought of him.

Scammer claiming to be with the Federal Police Cybercrime section gave this number to call him back.

"Anti-fraud squad" scammers gave this number to call them back.
