Supposedly a call from the Motor Accident Commission but seemed dodgy to me.

They call every 3 or 4 months and claim someone living here has had an accident in the past and then ask to verify details. I refused as always. They gave a mumbled company name, this time Carmen & ??
I asked for their ABN and hung up then looked it up - no such number!

They hang up when I answer.

How do you stop them calling?

As per other comments left THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU HAVE A WHISTLE HANDY WHEN THEY CALL AND USE IT.

Now they simply hang up when I answer. No hello or anything.

Just kept these people on the phone for over 11 minutes. The longer you keep them on the line knowing it's a scam, the less time they have to ring people who fall for it!

motor accident scammers. Phone number they call from is probably a Skype or other IP number.

Male rang this morning claiming he was from motor accident group
told him I was dead his reply how are you talking to me I called him a silly little man he hung up

Same story that we have had an accident. The only accident we had was accidentally answering the phone. This number is now added to my blocked caller list.

Same happened to me today.

Indian woman said she was from the "Accident Claims" department or something similar and said someone in my household had recently been involved in a car accident (they haven't). I asked how many people fall for this scam and she hung up

caller said he was from the accident commission ,could hear a lot of people in the background , when i said what he hung up

Scam, claiming they are from a law firm Common Law Claims, I asked for detail of where they are from, and just go them to wait while i said I was googling the business name. they offered to give me the web site address, told him I was not that silly to go to the website he gave me...then he hung up.

Number is now disconnected.
