Caller: I received an email saying I had bought a phone. So had some fun and gave them a call. All urls in the email were ok and they must have captured my looking at phones a few hours earlier on google searches. But sure enough, I rang the number and said I suspected they were a scam. They then began to question my parentage, etc. (lol) I made a bet that they would hang up before I did, and sure enough after suggesting I go procreate, they hung up. Seriously, it was a well-formed social engineering email that google filters did not pick up. Beware of calling them. I make a point of wasting their time as the more I distract them the less time they get on stealing from others.

Caller: Phishing email from “PayPal.com.au” listed this number to call.. Also received this email; fairly well crafted and fairly convincing. Convincing enough to make me check out my PayPal account just to be sure I hadn’t been hacked. Contained only one spelling mistake; slight giveaway (at least they’re improving their literacy)
Will give them a call in the morning and see what they’re offering. Will string them along and ask them interesting questions. Who will hang up first?!?
