This number tried calling me at 9:45pm on a week night. No voice message. Did not answer as obviously some sort of scam call.

Hey I'm from Karratha too but I got an Indian bloke not a female who assured me my number had been chosen by the ATO (go figure) and they would give me five grand just because I was lucky. I said B***s*** you d***head clearly you're a scammer and he hung up. Funny thing is he's called twice now and I hope he calls again so i can call him a d***head again. I don't get to do that very often.

seriously my wife did get a call aswell, just then, fir 18/02/11 at 1:40 pm. i did a google search of the number and this came up. sounds very suss. but gonna ring the tax office FIRST and check it out with the aplication they gave her.

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY RUNG THEM? Do they ask you for info ? What details do they want?

I also just received a call from this number 15 mins ago and I'm going to report it to the ATO on Monday. I'll repost what I hear from them. Very very dodgy!!! They could've at least tried to put on an Australian accent - the woman that called me was clearly indian and thought there was nothing dodgy at all about the ATO giving away money. I questioned her and she became quite defensive and kept telling me to ring the 02 number and her senior would tell me everything.
Idiot people. I hope they get caught.

I also received a phone call from an Indian lady instructing to ring (02) 6100 3286. She said she's calling on behalf of the the Australian government tax office and advised to ring the 02 number to speak to the senior supervisor in regards to obtaining a $7000 bonus money granted by the government to only a selection of people.I have never believed in any of these stuff but I am pretty sure that there are people who will innocently think that they are really getting the money. Really annoying and I am too listed on the do not call register. So why are they still ringing???
