Caller: Probably a scammer Got a call which showed this number as where it was from (may have been spoofed, who can say?). The person with an Indian accent claimed to be calling from Telstra and claimed they had noted something unusual with our IP, that it was showing up as public rather than private. I let them talk for a while and asked questions, such as why Telstra would be calling us, and they had plausible sounding reasons to anyone who may not know any better, such as most users. Told us to go to a website to check our IP status, a map had our IP located in a different suburb some distance from us. Seemed like they were trying to get us to download an app, which is a legitimate app, however AI overview about this specific app could be used by scammers. I ended up hanging up, but not before telling the guy I thought he was a scammer and I would call my internet service provider.
