I got called several times by a number with the same prefix. One time i picked up without speaking. I female voice addressed me by my first name, and kept saying it, but i didnt respond. I was waiting for more detail, but still didn't speak. However, after a bit, she hung up. The next day, i got several calls from a number with the same prefix, but changing last 4 digits. My plan is to now keep blocking until they give up.

As stated by others above, for about 2 weeks now I've been receiving multiple calls a day from (02) 7259 numbers but the last 4 digits change so it doesn't matter how many times you block them, they call from another number.
Has anyone actually answered a call from any of these numbers? I'm kind of curious but also don't want to risk answering.

I have experienced the same and not answered, although got caught off guard once and answered.
Someone announced themselves as Mavis and kept talking, although at same time I said "Stop Calling" and hung up.
Minutes later my phone that was plugged in and being charged, started dropping battery percent charge rate by 1 percent at a time, beeping each time it dropped.
I deleted a number of Apps and switched off my phone for a while and battery could be charged again.
So it seems "Mavis" had time to do something to my phone
Fixed the immediate problem ,however calls have started again ...all starting 02 7259 xxxx, so I will take further action.
This would be very likely to be a scam and potential installer of some type of malware
