Number spoofing scammers wanting your credit card details.

Call came through at 11:19am, showing to be from Cowes, Victoria. I don't normally answer unknown numbers but was expecting a call from Compare The Market since I used the website last night and they are persistent once they have your details. I answered with "hello", there was a few seconds of silence then a glitch-like sound like it was trying to connect to a call centre, and then the call ended.

Tried calling back and got an automated message from "Mitch at Compare The Market", and hung up before it finished.

Tried very hard to get me to donate to a "charity" for children who won't get enough to eat at Christmas. Even asked me how much they could put me down for.....starting at $125. I walked away from the phone while she was talking and went back 1/2 a minute later and she was still talking! Finally she wound down and said well how much CAN you afford. The lowest we accept is $25!
